Growing Degree Days

by Leo Lubke

March 2, 2010
To follow up on the Integrated Pest Management and Growing Degree Days as of March 2, here is an update for our accumulated GDD’s.

With a few mild days in February, we now have 54.4 Accumulated Growing Degree Days (AGDD).  While you wouldn’t know it by today’s snow, we have already started this growing season!

As far as rainfall here in Kodak, our total, year-to-date, is 7.5 inches.

Look at the Growing Degree Day’s “Integrated Pest Management Using Growing Degree Days - Chart” on our Website (www.scamga.org) to check on pests’ arrival and departure schedule.  Either view it on the screen or make a paper copy.

Yours in better gardens,
Leo
