December Yard, Garden & Plant Tips
Shrubs and trees
1.  Mist the foliage of greenery that is kept inside.
2.  Re-cut the trunk of the Christmas tree before placing in water.
3.  If using a “balled and burlap” (“B&B”) or containerized tree for Christmas, do not keep it in the house more than one week to prevent damaging the tree prior to planting.  Be sure to keep the roots moist while indoors.

Perennials, annuals and bulbs
1.  Sow larkspur seed now.

Fruits and vegetables
1.  Evaluate this year’s vegetable production and plan to try new varieties next year.

Lawn
1.  Winterize your lawn tractor.

Houseplants
1.  Do not place houseplants near heat vents.
2.  Poinsettias do best with bright light.

Odds and ends
1.  Keep bird feeders filled.
2.  Clean garden tools and store for the winter.
