November Yard, Garden & Plant Tips
Shrubs and trees
1.  Early November is an ideal time to plant trees.
2.  Keep leaves from piling up around the trunks of trees.

Perennials, annuals and bulbs
1.  Plant spring flowering bulbs in early November.
2.  Cut back perennials a few inches from the ground.
3.  Water perennials if the weather is dry.

Fruits and vegetables
1.  Remove weeds and debris from your garden to avoid overwintering pests.
2.  Compost only healthy material.  Destroy tomato and cucumber vines because they harbor insects.
3.  Get a soil test.  Contact your county Extension Office for a soil test box.

Houseplants
1.  Mist houseplants frequently to prevent brown leaf edges due to low humidity.
2.  Late November is time to start amaryllis for a December bloom.

Odds and ends
1.  Fill bird feeders to attract birds in your winter garden.
